Abu Garcia Specialist spinning reel & medium heavy rod combo

The reel is an Abu Garcia Specialist 804, 8 Ball Bearing drive with instant anti-reverse and 5.1:1 gear ratio. The reel comes mounted on a quality IM8 graphite rod for outstanding strength and sensitivity.

The rod is a 2 pc - 7' rod. IM8 Graphite "Specialist" engineered by Abu garcia. Rod spec's are as follows: SPS702MH 7'0 Medium Heavy Action. Lure 1/4-1oz. 8 - 17 lb line.

Versatility is the key to any truly great lure and the Fatso fills that need very well. Casting or trolling, the Fatso excels. You can simply cast out the Fatso and reel it in and catch fish, you can pump the rod tip to get a more obvious side to side action and catch fish. You can burn the lure in as fast as you can crank and catch fish. Floating models can be worked slowly just below the surface, sinking models have no limit to how deep you can fish. Surf casters love the compact body that allows for long range casting. Monster stripers have been taken on the Fatso and more and more saltwater species like roosterfish have also fallen for the very special action of the Fatso.This is not a light lure, so we recommend line of at least 20 pound test and a very stout rod.
