Abu Garcia Specialist spinning reel & medium heavy rod combo
The reel is an Abu Garcia Specialist 804, 8 Ball Bearing drive with instant anti-reverse and 5.1:1 gear ratio. The reel comes mounted on a quality IM8 graphite rod for outstanding strength and sensitivity.
The rod is a 2 pc - 7' rod. IM8 Graphite "Specialist" engineered by Abu garcia. Rod spec's are as follows: SPS702MH 7'0 Medium Heavy Action. Lure 1/4-1oz. 8 - 17 lb line.

This massive version of the Classic Salmo Chubby Darter is designed to be used in many applications to catch pike, muskie, striper, blue fish, lake trout and countless other species.
You can troll it fast, where the bait will shake your rod tip apart. You can jig it up and down directly below your boat to fish in super deep water as you drift fish, or you can cast it to deep structure to trigger big fish.
It's recommended you do not use lines lighter then 20 pound test when fishing with the Giant Chubby. This lure should also be fished with a stiff rod. The classic seven foot flippin’ stick is ideal for fishing with the Giant Chubby. We also recommend you use wire leaders when teeth are present and super strong snaps anytime the Giant Chubby is used. This is a very aggressive, big fish bait that really has no equal.
Lake trout anglers will not find a better lure for fishing those super deep monsters. You would be surprised how effective this bait is for trolling stripers, or for use when you want to cast to a breaking school on the surface and you want to burn in the lure in as fast as you can to trigger a strike.
