The reel is an Abu Garcia Specialist 804, 8 Ball Bearing drive with instant anti-reverse and 5.1:1 gear ratio. The reel comes mounted on a quality IM8 graphite rod for outstanding strength and sensitivity.

The rod is a 2 pc - 7' rod. IM8 Graphite "Specialist" engineered by Abu garcia. Rod spec's are as follows: SPS702MH 7'0 Medium Heavy Action. Lure 1/4-1oz. 8 - 17 lb line.

The Sweeper is the next generation of side to side glide bait. What makes the Salmo Sweeper so special is that it glides farther with less effort than any other lure on the market today. A long gliding bait that darts one direction then glides and abruptly flashes then darts and glides almost 180 degrees in the other direction triggers almost any predator fish to strike. This action is only made possible with Salmo Sweeper's unique body shape and internal balance weights that turn it the ultimate glide bait.
How to Fish a Sweeper:

You can cast or troll a Sweeper, but casting gives you the best ability to vary the retrieve techniques to get a strike. To make the Sweeper glide, you simply start with your rod tip pointed at the horizon, you then snap your rod tip downward then pause, snap it again and the lure will dart the other direction and glide. The length of time between your snaps and the briskness of your rod snap will control how wide of a glide the bait will make. For this reason a rod with a stiff tip is preferred when fishing this lure. The Salmo Sweeper is a slow sinking lure specifically designed for this type of fishing since this is exactly what injured baitfish do, they slowly start to sink. You can expect most of your strikes to occur just after you snap the bait and it is gliding or almost standing completely still.
